Phase 1: Safe Receipt & Handling

• Prepare the Route: Before delivery arrives, clear a direct pathway from the entry point to the installation area. Protect existing floors with plywood or heavy-duty cardboard.
• Teamwork is Essential: Never handle crates or individual slabs alone due to their significant weight and size. Always employ a minimum of two people.
• Utilize Correct Tools: Move crated packages with a robust dolly. For individual slabs, specialized suction cup handles are mandatory for a secure grip and to prevent injury.
• Proper Storage: Store unpacked slabs vertically in an A-frame rack or leaned safely against a wall using edge protectors. Avoid stacking slabs flat without professional padding systems.

Phase 2: Critical Pre-Installation Steps

• Acclimatization: Allow unpacked material to rest in the installation environment for 48-72 hours prior to work. This stabilizes the stone relative to ambient temperature and humidity.
• Substrate Verification: The subfloor must be impeccably clean, dry, rigid, and level (within industry standards). Any deflection can lead to cracks. Install an appropriate cement backer board if necessary.
• Dry Layout Planning: Arrange all pieces on the floor without adhesive first. This crucial step allows for optimal pattern design, veining distribution, and pre-cutting adjustments.

Phase 3: Professional Installation Protocol

• Select Appropriate Mortar: Use a high-quality, polymer-modified thin-set mortar rated for large-format natural stone. A medium-bed mortar is often advised for this size format to compensate for minor thickness variations.
