Main Components Of Outdoor Stone
Nov 14, 2024
The main components of outdoor stone include granite, marble and limestone.
Granite
Granite is an igneous rock mainly composed of quartz, feldspar and mica. Its composition is mainly silicon dioxide, accounting for about 60%-75%, feldspar content is 40% to 60%, and quartz content is 20% to 40%. Granite is hard, wear-resistant, corrosion-resistant, high in compressive strength, rich in color, with gray, red, yellow and other options.
Marble
Marble is metamorphosed from limestone, and its main component is calcium carbonate, accounting for more than 50%. It also contains magnesium carbonate, calcium oxide, manganese oxide and silicon dioxide. Marble has a high decorative effect, but its hardness is slightly lower than that of granite, and its wear resistance is slightly worse. Marble has a beautiful texture and is often used for pavement in high-end places, such as landscape trails in parks and roads in villa areas.
Limestone
Limestone is mainly composed of calcite, limestone, serpentine and dolomite, and its main component is calcium carbonate. Limestone is soft and easy to process and carve, and is often used for interior decoration and sculpture.
