Process & Machines:

 

Slab Selection & Layout: Inspect slabs for color consistency, vein flow, and defects. Digitally map and template the oblong shape to optimize material use and vein alignment.

Cutting: Use a Bridge Saw or Waterjet Cutter to rough-cut the oblong shape from the slab. Waterjet is preferred for intricate curves and minimizing material stress.

Thickness Calibration: Pass the cut piece through a Calibrating Machine to achieve precise, uniform thickness (critical for bar height, typically 40mm+). This ensures flatness and stability.

Shaping & Profiling: A CNC Machining Center precisely mills the final oblong shape, cuts sink/aperture holes (if any), and profiles the edges (e.g., ogee, bullnose, waterfall). CNC ensures accuracy and repeatability.

Surface Polishing: Use an Automatic Line Polisher with progressively finer diamond abrasives to achieve the desired high-gloss or honed finish. Hand polishing may be needed for edges or intricate details.

Reinforcement (If Needed): For large tops or fragile areas, fiberglass mesh or rodding (inserting steel/fiberglass rods into grooves) may be applied for added strength.

Quality Control & Finishing: Final inspection for dimensions, flatness, finish consistency, edge smoothness, and defects. Clean and protect the surface.

 

 

Key Quality Assurance Points:

 

Material Integrity: Slabs must be free of cracks, excessive fillings, or unstable veins that could compromise structural integrity, especially at bar height.

Precision Calibration: Uniform thickness is paramount to prevent warping, cracking, or wobbling. Tolerances should be tight (e.g., +/- 0.5mm).

CNC Accuracy: Precise programming and machine setup are essential for perfect oblong dimensions, edge profiles, and hole placements. Any deviation affects fit and aesthetics.

Edge & Corner Strength: Bar tops endure more leaning and impact. Edges must be smoothly polished without chips or micro-cracks. Corners need extra attention.

Surface Finish: Consistent, high-quality polish without swirl marks, dull spots, or "orange peel" effect. The unique Gold Rose Orange pattern should be enhanced, not obscured.

Flatness: The top must be perfectly flat to sit securely on the base. Use straightedges and feeler gauges to check.

Vein Matching (if multiple pieces): For seamless looks, vein flow and color must align precisely where pieces meet (e.g., waterfall edges).
