Fabrication of Substructure: Simultaneously, the metal (e.g., brushed brass) or wooden frame/substructure is fabricated. This requires welding, joining, and finishing equipment to create a rigid support system capable of bearing the immense weight of the marble.

Dry Assembly & Calibration: All marble components and the substructure are dry-assembled. A Calibrating Machine may be used to ensure all marble parts have perfectly uniform thickness and align flush with no gaps, which is crucial for the geometric Art Deco style.

Final Assembly, Sealing, & Packaging: The marble is permanently adhered to the substructure using industrial epoxy. The entire piece is sealed, meticulously cleaned, and then packaged in a custom-built wooden crate with heavy-duty foam and braces to prevent movement during transit.

 

 

Keys to Achieving Good Quality

 

Structural Integrity: The paramount concern. The metal or wood frame must be engineered to support over 200 kg of marble without flexing. Any flex will cause the marble to crack. Welds and joints must be impeccable.

Precision of Geometry: Art Deco is defined by sharp, precise lines and symmetrical patterns. The CNC programming and machining must be flawless. All components must align perfectly with tight, consistent seams. There is no room for error.

Veining Layout & Book-Matching: For the highest quality, the marble slabs should be "book-matched" (opened like a book) on the front facade to create a symmetrical mirror image of the veining. The veining flow across the different pieces should be harmonized by a skilled artisan.

Reinforcement: Large, thin marble panels (especially for sides or doors) must be reinforced on the back with Fiberglass Mesh or a metal armature to prevent cracking from vibration or stress.

Perfect Finish & Packaging: The polish must be consistent, deep, and free of scratches or "hazing," especially on the intricate edges. As the product is oversized and heavy, its custom crate must be exceptionally robust to survive international shipping.
