Comprehensive Inspection Checklist

1. Material & Natural Attributes

Color Range: Sheet-to-sheet color should fall within the expected spectrum for the marble variety. Slight tonal shifts between individual tiles on a sheet are normal.
Veining & Markings: Natural veining is acceptable. Reject sheets with stark discolorations (e.g., large rust spots) that severely disrupt the intended aesthetic.
Surface Texture: Small, superficial pits are characteristic. Ensure no pits are deep enough to affect surface integrity or retain moisture.

2. Fabrication & Workmanship Standards

Mesh Backing Integrity: The fiberglass mesh must be fully adhered across the sheet without looseness or peeling.
Tile Alignment & Spacing: All tiles must be correctly aligned on the mesh backing with even spacing according to design specifications; tiles must not be crooked or overlapping.
- Must Not: Sheets where misalignment breaks the intended mosaic pattern.
- Must Not: Any tile with significant edge chipping (>1mm) that will remain visible post-grout installation on its face side
- Must Not: Tiles exhibiting body cracks or complete breaks
- Must Not: Warped sheets or those grossly out of specified dimensional tolerance

Polished Finish: Surfaces should exhibit consistent gloss across all tiles within a sheet without major dull patches deep scratches
Cleanliness: Tiles must be free from epoxy residue oil stains persistent dirt not removable water
